今天，致力于促进工业发展的联合国机构和中国皮革协会共同出版了中文版的企业自有标准指南。这本针对发展中国家在服装，鞋业和家具行业的出口商编制的自有标准指南，旨在帮助他们顺利进入全球的产业链。

   The United Nations agency tasked with promoting industrial development, and the China Leather Industry Association (CLIA) have today launched the Chinese language version of a recent guidebook on private standards for exporters in developing countries working in the garments, footwear and furniture sectors, to help them access global production and supply chains.

   这本由联合国工业发展组织主编的“制定行之有效的企业自有标准：一本关于服装，鞋类和家具行业自有标准的指南”,为发展中国家的供应商介绍了一套战略性方法来应对日益增长的自有标准要求。

   The publication by the United Nations Industrial Development Organization (UNIDO),
“Making private standards work for you: A guide to private standards in the garments, footwear and furniture sectors”, outlines a strategic approach for suppliers in developing countries to manage the growing number of private standards.

   企业自有标准，如同已被广泛认可的商业价值、规范、伦理、法规、原则、道德规范等，更注重在社会责任，安全和环境问题等方面的内容，成为品牌生产商和零售商在寻找产品来源时的重要准则。

   Private standards, also known as business values, norms, ethics, codes, principles or morals, focus on social, safety and environmental issues and are required by brand producers and retailers when they source their products.

   据估计，现存的行为准则和管理体系大约有1000种。但是发展中国家的大部分企业缺乏相关明确的信息。

   Some estimates suggest that more than 1,000 codes of conduct and management systems exist. But most companies in developing countries do not have much tangible information.

合国工业发展组织的驻华代表柯文斯先生认为这本指南“为那些希望与主流国际采购商和零售商进行交易的企业，提供了他们所需的极其宝贵的信息”。

   The Director of UNIDO’s Regional Office in Beijing, Edward Clarence-Smith, said the new guidebook “provides companies who want to enter into business with major international buyers and retailers with invaluable information on what is facing them”.”

  “当与全球采购商交易时，企业除了遵守国内的、地区的和国际的标准和技术规则外，还需要遵从自有标准。”柯文斯先生说。

   When trading with global buyers, in addition to national, regional or international standards and technical regulations, a business now needs to comply with private standards as well,” said Mr. Clarence-Smith.

   本指南由挪威国际合作开发署资助，得到荷兰促进从发展中国家进口中心的协助。本指南由中国皮革协会协助翻译成中文。

   The guidebook was funded by the Norwegian Agency for Development Cooperation (Norad) and developed in collaboration with the Dutch Centre for Promotion of Imports from developing countries (CBI). The guidebook was translated into Chinese in collaboration with the China Leather Industry Association (CLIA).

   “社会责任，安全和环境问题成为制约中国皮革产业可持续发展的重要因素。相关的要求已经被列入中国皮革产业“十二五”规划之中。”中国皮革协会理事长张淑华说。

  “Social, safety and environmental issues are very key elements for sustainable development of China’s leather and leather goods industries. The related requirements have been included in the 12th five-year-plan scheme of China’s leather industry. ” the president of the China Leather Industry Association, Zhang Shuhua, said.
